Description

The house in this painting is a motif used in reference to many ruins along the atlantic coastline that stand empty as if looking out to sea, watching for the return of their inhabitants. It refers to another age, to recent history and to emigration and also to the courage and strength of those that stayed behind. Although it is descriptive of the harsh beauty of the coastline it is a 'hopeful' painting, a wish for the home coming of young generations.
